प्रणतः क्लेशनाशाय गोविंदाय नमो नमः ।।

prānatāh kleshanashayā govīndayā nāmo namāh


Krishnaya Vasudevaya Haraye Paramatmane shloka depicts the love of Lord Krishna towards his devotees. Govind destroys the sufferings, tribulations and pains of his devotees and maintains a graceful gaze on his devotees. This form of Lord Shri Krishna has been worshiped time and again. The English translation of Padma Purana Verse 6.252.109 is contained in the book Sri Padma Purana

The way Krishna accepted the sufferings of his supreme devotee and friend Arjuna as his own, helped him by becoming a charioteer in the great war of Mahabharata and gave invaluable knowledge of Gita, it shows that Shri Krishna destroys the sufferings of all his devotees. I bow to Shri Govind. There are so many examples in the past from Sudama, Draupdi, Surdas, Meera and lakhs of devotees whose grief was destroyed by Sri Govind. Meaning: Salutations to Sri Krishna, Vasudeva, Hari Paramatma, Govinda, we salute you again and again for the destruction of all our miseries.

Sanskirt to English Meaning:
Krishnaya – to Krishna;
Vasudevaya – the son of Vasudeva;
Haraye – the Supreme Lord, Hari;
Parama-atmane – the Supreme Lord, Soul;
Pranata – of those who have surrendered;
Klesa – of the distress;
Nasaya – to the destroyer;
Govindaya – to Govinda;
Namo Namah – repeated obeisances;

The word Namaha repeated twice represents our complete surrender to Him.

We offer obeisances again and again to Lord Krishna, the son of Vasudeva, Hari. That Supreme Soul (Paramatma), Govinda destroys the miseries of all those who surrender to Him.
