The enchanting waltz "Take a Letter, Miss Gray" was penned by Justin Tubb. Miss Gray, whose real name is Joyce Gray Jackson, served as the inspiration for the song and indeed existed in real life. She worked as Jim Reeves's secretary from 1958 until his passing in 1964.
