"Love On Top" is a song by American singer Beyoncé. Inspired by her emotional state while portraying Etta James in the 2008 musical biography Cadillac Records, Beyoncé co-wrote the song with Terius Nash and Shea Taylor. The uptempo R&B song is a throwback to the music of the 1980s. Its style is similar to that of Stevie Wonder, Huey Lewis, Whitney Houston, and The Jackson 5.
