I recorded this vinyl only DJ set (79 minutes) at home. This fifty-first volume of my Blues Sessions is the eighth zydeco special. I’ve selected 25 tracks by many different zydeco artists. I was very happy to visit NOLA Jazz Fest again in 2025. I got to enjoy many zydeco concerts during my stay. Few things are as exciting and fun as live zydeco! I even got to enjoy 4,5 hours of “Dwayne Dopsie and the Zydeco Hellraisers” and “Rockin' Dopsie Jr & The Zydeco Twisters” in d.b.a. on a saturday night. These guys just kept playing, it was awesome. Their father is heavily featured in this set. I also bought a few new zydeco records during my visit. The Rockin’ Sidney track is on one of them and is one of my favorites now. You can expect some deep zydeco blues at the start of this set and many dancefloor killers later on.
