Description
A little tune for Saint Patrick's Day with Leon "Mad Hatter" Wilkeson.
Seventies Lynyrd Skynyrd is pretty far from what people think they know about the band nowadays. This song from one of my favorite albums of theirs Nuthin' Fancy (1975) is quite Dylanesque in its lyrics about a hobo going from town to town with his guitar in search of a bite to eat and a song to learn.
The bass is great fun to play. One of the things that make it interesting is that during Verse I it follows and supports the main guitar riff, and you can feel that in the pattern as you're playing. Then Verse 2 and 3 diverge from it and go into a more rythmic variant to give that rolling on the train track vibes all the way to the end.
