Description
Kumarji has written beautiful bandishes on weddings, be it, “Mangal Din Aaj” in Raga Malavati, or “Chandaasa Mukh” in Raga Saheli Todi, and many many others. One of my favorite in that list is the bandish — “Main Laai Sera” in Raga Jaijaiwanti. It is a lilting bandish in Jaijaiwanti that talks about the headgear used by grooms in wedding rituals across India, called the Sehra or Sera, and the traditions revolving around it.
