(23 May 2021) MANESKIN LEAD SINGER DENIES ALLEGATIONS OF DRUG USE DURING EUROVISION FINAL
Maneskin lead singer Damiano David vehemently denied using drugs during a portion of the Eurovision final broadcast Saturday night (22 MAY 2021).
The Italian performer appeared to be bending over his table and sniffing something in a quick cutaway shot during the casting of the votes for the song contest.
Social media immediately exploded with allegations of drug use and even calls to revoke their prize, but David said in the press conference post show he doesn't use narcotics.
"Thomas break a glass," he said to a journalist's question asking what he was doing in that shot.
Guitarist Thomas Raggi confirmed that was the case.
"I don't use drugs," added David. "Please don't say but. Yeah. Don't say that. Really. No cocaine. Please don't say that."
