So with the second of our Sonic themed Valentine's day special, it was inevitable that we'd get our McDonald's Sonic ad. This one is one that I found from a Toon Archivist ad break and is for the Sega LCD games from 2003. I remember these very well! My cousin Roshan had the game where Sonic was driving in a car dodging other cars... huh? I got the Ai Ai one based off of Monkey Ball, where you had to collect bananas. I liked playing that game... I wish I still had it. I also remember playing that one button Sonic game where he jumped over blocks while on bus rides home from school... kind of a precursor to auto runners on mobile, if you ask me.

This was a Happy Meal I quite remember fondly, but I never really saw the ad for it... until now. Found in a Cartoon Network Commercial break from July 2003, courtesy of The Toon Archivist, the Happy Meal portion of the ad shows a CGI racetrack where a familiar blue blur is zipping around the track, which turns out to be Sonic, outrunning the cars. The camera zooms in on a photo finish, where Sonic looks at the camera with is cocky grin and gives a thumbs up to the viewer! We see a boy playing the Sonic Car LCD game while a girl watches him. We see all of the 6 games kids could get in their Happy Meals before finishing off with a shot of Sonic zooming towards the viewer with a happy meal in his hand! Amazing!
