When Gulzar penned this song, RD told him it is impossible to compose. Gulzar said if there was anyone who could compose it, it was RD. And well, so RD composed it finally. Well, it was Asha's turn to be flabbergasted and she said she could not possibly sing it. RD said if he could compose it, Asha could sing it. And hence, this astounding song was born.... Asha went on to receive a National Award for this song and this 'Mera Kuch Samaan' remains her personal favourite till date.....
