LYRICS:
As I plead with nightfall,
The damage, it is apparent,
I can hear my child crying out,
Raped by the greed of man.
All this pain I hold inside,
Wrapped in chains I can no longer hide,
With every ounce of my being,
The embers turn to flame.
NO!
Purge their filth from my flesh,
O' dearest moon, hide me in your eclipse.
The sons of light, they have to die,
I feel their stain will end us all,
The magic is unbalanced, as blackest light approaches,
Their lust, their thirst, it has to end.
O' Father!
Night breathe your dream, deep within my soul,
Sorcery supremacy, locked in an eternal hold.
The cosmic truce is corrupt, as creation defiles creation.
I behold this tarnished land,
This tapestry woven by my own hands.
Though you have the strength to stand,
The mountains will never bow to the blight of man.
Behold, change haunting the land,
I can feel it crawling deep within,
The stars, they whisper of something new,
Umbral veil, will you reveal the truth?
I've lived a thousand lives,
and told a thousand tales,
but I've yet to understand the fate,
of the Ember and the Gale.
[Incantation]
And a great silence befell the forest,
A man, untethered by fear, approached,
Under the gaze of the rising moon,
And the rivers as their witness,
Hail great beast, oh mighty lord,
the moon showed the way to thee,
Under the stars, your plight came to me,
Moved by compassion and honest creed.
Child of man, I hold back my hand,
For what kind of god will not listen?
Walter: I've heard your heart, and only wish to help,
My heart breaks for the good you don't see.
But ye be warned, if you cross me,
My wrath is great, and hate runs deep.
It seeps into my blood and bones,
Lest it be the soil from which you grow.
I hope to show that not all seeds are bad
and good can grow in a barren land,
We stand together, despite my hate
Are you the one to change my fate?
Swirling in the void, I've seen it in my dreams,
God of the earth and the skies and all in between,
I've suffered many years to repent for our sins,
And I swear upon the sun and the moon and the stars,
I would do it all again.
Can I see through the eyes of hate, into something more?
Can a flame cradled by the wind, hope to be reborn?
All this pain inside,
These chains no longer mine,
The inferno echoes this chorus I sing,
Burned into the memories of time.
I've lived a thousand lives,
and told a thousand tales,
And at last I finally understand the fate,
Of the Ember and the Gale!
