It is difficult to define what a "Modern Waltz" is. I will include waltzes written mainly in the 20th and 21th centuries, which do not conform to the classical Viennese, French and English Waltz styles, and where the melodies and harmonies are more adventurous.
Éric Satie (17 May 1866 – 1 July 1925) – was a French composer and pianist, active during the early Parisian avant-garde period. He was a flamboyant figure, and his music preceded the modern classical music era. His music is often satirical, and even eccentric. He died from liver cirrhosis after years of heavy drinking.
Je Te Veux (I Want You) is a valse song first published in 1902. It is a sentimental waltz, set to words by Henry Pacory.
