Description
I'm fed up with the "rape and pillage" school of classical music interpretation, although I understand the pressure on performers to do something (anything) different, if only to stand out from the crowd. But what I don't get is listeners who enable the barbarism while simultaneously claiming to recognize and subscribe to all that is transcendent and sublime in "high" culture.
