물은 음악과 영상을 통해 기존의 이야기를 소수자의 시선에서 재해석하는 작업을 하는 아티스트다. 더 나은 세상으로 끊임없이 흐르는 마음을 빗대어 ‘물’이라 이름지었다.
2년만에 출시하는 세 번째 싱글, [홍길동가]는 허균의 고전소설 ‘홍길동전’을 재해석한 작품이다. 본 작품에서 물은 광장에서의 경험을 바탕으로, 연대의 힘을 “모든 약자의 뒷배” 홍길동이 가지는 익명성과 신출귀몰하는 능력에 빗대어 노래한다.

🎼About "Hong Gil Dong"
Mul is an artist retelling popular stories in a sense of the minority from every single aspect. “Mul”, meaning ‘water’ in Korean, indicates her willing to make the world better place, as a metaphor that the water flows in a one certain way.
The 3rd single "Hong Gil Dong" is originated from the Korean traditional novel “Hong Gildong jeon” of which story is about a hero stealing from the rich and corrupted with his supernatural abilities. The song is referring to the story and the main character, which is similar to singer's own experiences of participating in demanstrations in South Korea.
