Description
Nitric oxide can be increased directly through humming. This practice actively relaxes your body, regulates vagus nerve function and increases nitric oxide levels by 15x compared to regular breathing.
Nitrix Oxide is a potent antioxidant in our bodies which reduces as we age and due to our diet and lifestyles. The function of nitric oxide is to relax smooth muscles in the circulatory system (regular practice will reduce Blood Pressure naturally), the digestive system, and nervous tissues including the vagus nerve.
Nitric oxide also is a potent anti-inflammatory agent. Inflammation is one of the driving factors in many chronic diseases, including depression and anxiety along with cancer, heart disease, dementia, arthritis, and diabetes.
Finally, nitric oxide also influences immune function which affects wound healing and fighting pathogens.
When you consider that nitric oxide is reduced due to poor diet and lifestyle along with natural aging and at the same time acts to prevent many of our diet and lifestyle diseases, nitric oxide could be considered the missing link between health and disease.
Athletes even benefit from enhanced nitric oxide levels through this practice. Monks have known about the benefits of humming (omh is a form of humming) for centuries. And now through this simple daily practice, you can enjoy the profound benefits.
Instructions
1. Sit in a quiet, upright position. This can be on a bed or chair in a relaxed way. Use with headphones for best effect. Link to explainer video here. https://youtu.be/p3h6QEiMaaE
2. Take a few deep breaths and quiet your mind.
3. Let your breath calm and normalise before pressing play.
4. Hum in tune with the frequency sound you hear. Each few minutes the frequencies adjust higher. These are biaurel frequencies which have a calming effect on your vagus nerve and regulate the nervous system.
5. As you exhale hum in tune with the frequency. The first frequency may be too low for you so you can adjust upwards.
6. You do not need to hum on every exhale. It can be quite tiring to begin and as with all practices it takes time to master.
7. Try to either close your eyes and focus on the humming or you can watch the visual images if you find your mind wandering.
8. As the practice draws to an end, you will find yourself in a calm and deep sense of relaxation. Your blood pressure will naturally lower, your inflammation levels reduce and the state of calm persists for several hours afterwards, whilst the Nitrix Oxide levels stay in your circulation.
The more regularly your practice, the better the results and the more lasting. It can be practiced twice a day if you wish and we have a 15 minute version as well. Enjoy and let us know if you have any questions or feedback.
