The second show of the Definitely Maybe Tour, Oasis played as part of a Sony music conference held in the Gleneagles Hotel in Gleneagles, Scotland near the city of Perth. This video uses the soundboard source, as it sounds far more powerful to the audio feed from the pro-shot video. There seems to be some confusion over the date of this show, but for now i’ve got it down as the 6th of February. Though the lads only play six songs the performance otherwise is fantastic. Liam sounds fantastic throughout, showing off his natural voice beautifully before any temptation towards pushing his voice for power was a thing. He nails Digsy’s Dinner, Live Forever and Cigarettes & Alcohol with conviction and all three are possibly the best renditions of the songs live. The band too are very tight on each song, the only hiccup being Noel flubbing a small part of his Digsy’s solo. Back to the date of the show however.

The 6th of February is the date which Oasis’ vault has claimed down for this show, but other sources say the 9th of March. This is due to a newspaper clipping, yet it mentions nothing of Oasis, who had begun to make a name for themselves following a gig at The Water Rats in London, just that it had Sony acts playing (and Creation, whom Oasis were signed to were a subsidiary of Sony). However, most stories seem to align Gleneagles as before the Amsterdam incident which took place around the 18th of February, which was also a conference event, that also had The Verve on the bill (who were a Virgin label band). So I don’t know, there’s loopholes all over this period and until something concrete comes up in future naming Oasis to be at Gleneagles on the 9th of March, the date is as is as of now. Either way, this is not a gig to miss out on, as it’s fantastic. A classic that every Oasis fan should listen to.
