Description
Celtic/Americana Musicians Sammy and Kylie Horner who perform as The Sweet Sorrows, will be visiting from Ireland to perform at Geneva Bakery Cafe on Friday, October 7 at 8:00pm.
Dan Zdilla will be opening the night. After playing and touring with several Lancaster PA bands over the past several years, Dan Zdilla has recorded his first solo record; with a perfect blend of quirky romanticism and sweetly unpretentious vocal delivery, His music is awash in Beatles-drenched arrangements that for all their musical complexity take their place as canvas for the real creative focus of the songs, Zdilla’s expressive melodies and slyly simple lyrics that deepen on every listen.
Sammy Horner is probably best known for his role as a founding member of the Scotland-based Celtic-Rock band, The Electrics. The Electrics released over seven albums, touring extensively throughout Europe and the United States. Throughout their career they released music independently, through Pila Records (Germany) and through 5 Minute Walk Records (US).
In addition to his work with The Electrics, Sammy has enjoyed tenure as a solo musician, performing his own unique blend of Celtic, Folk and Spiritual music. He has worked and played with renowned musicians, such as Buddy Miller, Phil Madeira and Glenn Kaiser. He has shared stages with Motorhead, Cliff Richard, The Alarm, Bruce Cockburn and many more.

A few years ago, Sammy found himself with a new niche – as this Irishman married Kylie, an Australian songstress. The two married and became musical nomads as they started performing as, The Sweet Sorrows. Together they combine Celtic charm and Americana edge together with catchy and soft harmonies. Touring all over the world, they willingly leave their home in Ireland to deliver a mix of Irish traditional songs and original songs that are inspired by their journey.
This concert is free. Attendees are encouraged to give donations. Coffee, drinks and baked goods will be available for sale before and during the concert from Geneva Bakery Cafe.
Geneva Bakery Cafe is located inside the East Petersburg Civic Center at 6030 Lemon Street in East Petersburg, PA.
