Last night (January 24th, 2014) my friend got us backstage at the classic Ryman Auditorium, hanging out with some of the most classic names in Country music. We were standing on stage right, and Jewel appeared next to us with her father. They played a duet. When OCMS came in the door, I stupidly tried keeping my cool and not making a big fuss. Charley Pride was cracking jokes and dancing with us. This night brought a new level of appreciation and understanding of what Country music is. Everyone was so friendly and knew each other. When Chris Jansen performed a song about his life, his wife was standing on the side beaming. Bill Anderson, Jimmy C Newman, John Conlee, were a few names there that night. Very heartfelt night for Country, here in Nashville.
