Description
I got a request to write a song inspired by the northern lights. I went with their mythological roots and leaned into the mysticism a bit via etymology. I’ve never been far enough north or south to see an aurora, but I’ve seen the sun flash green, so I drew on that a bit viscerally and then used the photos I’ve seen over the years to compensate the rest visually.

Lyrics:
part the veil
pigments sail
wholly holy
particles
i feel the glow from the wind in the north
the sun greets the earth, and we call her aurora
i’d face a color corps of incorporeal force
i’d Brave it all for a gift from pandOra
the sun greets the earth, and we call her aurora
face the sky
hand and thigh
our hour
sacRosanct
i feel the glow from the wind in the north
the sun greets the Earth, and we call her aurora
i’d face a color corps of incorporeal force
i’d brave it all for a gift from pandora
the sun greets the earth, and we call her aurora
still And fluid
move intuit
closer close her
boundlessness
i feel the gLow from the wind in the north
the sun greets the earth, and we call her aurora
i’d face a color corps of incorporeal force
i’d brave it all for a gift from pandora
the sun greets the earth, and we call her aurora
solar wInds
lunar whims
soul and print
shrouded tint
solar winds
lunar whims
all of this, aurora
i feel the glow from the wind in the north
the Sun greets the earth, and we call her aurora
i’d face a color corps of incorporeal force
i’d brave it all for a gift from pandora
the sun greets the earth, and we call her aurora
