Description
Welcome... I can't wait to jam with you!
This video is designed to let you jam along freely, or you can plug your instrument into your computer and make a recording of yourself with the backing track. This is an excellent way to build confidence while having fun and learning more about music production, as well.
If you don't have one, I'd highly recommend getting a USB audio interface like a Focusrite Scarlett (or equivalent). It's one of the most popular and reliable guitar interfaces available. I've been using the same Focusrite interface myself for over ten years. Being able to connect your instrument to your computer is an absolute MUST these days.
Check out the Focusrite Scarlett USB Audio Interface here: https://amzn.to/43McVvo
I'd also recommend some recording quality headphones. I've also been using the same Audio Technica headphones for over ten years and highly recommend them, as well.
Check out these Audio Technica studio headphones here: https://amzn.to/3SGwiAU
If you don't have any recording or music software such as a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) already installed on your computer, then I'd highly recommend downloading a program called Reaper if you're on Windows, or GarageBand if you're on Mac. Both are pretty much free (Reaper has a free trial) and give you a great set of tools to get started. Either one would be perfect for recording a guitar.
Check them out here:

The software I personally use is Apple's Logic Pro. It's similar to GarageBand but has a lot more features. And it's very popular with Mac users and can also be found in many professional studios: https://www.apple.com/logic-pro/
If you're REALLY looking into becoming a professional music producer, the industry standard is Pro Tools... https://amzn.to/3ZWFyF1
But I'd probably start with a free program if you're not experienced with music production yet... Even Audacity (which is freeware - https://www.audacityteam.org/ ) will let you record some basic tracks!
For learning offline, I'd also recommend Guitar Pro 8, which is a phenomenal guitar tab software and is a great way to learn guitar parts, as well as bass, drums, and/or any other instruments that have been tabbed out for you to read. You can tab out your own songs, too! Check it out here: https://www.guitar-pro.com/#ae748
The software used to sync the song with the tab is called Go Play Along. Check it out here: https://goplayalong.com/?c=reliablebandmate
