I've dreamed of seeing the state of California for a very long time- at 26 years old, I finally made the decision to go for it. I rented a car in LAX, drove to San Diego, then up I-5 to San Francisco, and then back down the Pacific Coast Highway to Venice Beach. These are some of my favorite pictures and songs that I heard along the journey.

A few tips of advice, after reading tons of articles and forums on the internet about the PCH, my first hand experience was that:

- Driving South on the PCH was much more enjoyable than going North because it's so much easier to pull off and take pictures- and trust me, your going to want to pull off every 500 yards, because its that beautiful! =D (However, know that, to me, the most beautiful part was around Big Sur because you are SOO much higher up the cliffs- while going South you get more to the ocean level...

-It's nowhere near as 'dangerous' or 'scary' as I'd imagined. I was so fearful for driving a rental... (NO GUARDRAILS!! =0 ...thats not an issue, perhaps if you were driving at night time, it could be quite scary, but if you get an early start, you can make it through the more windy parts with ample sunlight.

-The Nepenthe Restaurant is awesomely beautiful, lol, but exquisitely pricey! ...perhaps just for me as a young guy, but its about $22 for a soup and salad as a heads up... still worth it though, because when else are you going to have this chance to overlook the Pacific Ocean and just sit back and enjoy!
