Description
The Improvisation Peace Piece was recorded by Bill Evans in December 1958 for his album Everybody Digs Bill Evans. Although a peaceful song, it features a lot of discordant notes but has a real meditational quality. It reminds to the piano compositions of Satie and Debussy or Chopin. (esp. to the Berceuse op. 57). Bill Evans always refused to play it again, because he believed that the composition would lose its value and meaning as it had been an inspiration at the moment only.
