Returning to the stage to sing enka for the first time after 4.5 years of working from home and COVID was daunting, but ultimately the right choice.
I am grateful for the support and encouragement of friends and family leading up to this performance. Members of the Okinawan performing group who was on stage before me, the stage crew, and the emcee were all kind and helpful both before and after the show. Several strangers also bestowed kind words on me for the rest of the day at the festival.
A great day all around and a lot to be grateful for!
