Within the first verse, Riccardo mentions how at times he thinks the world has never liked people like him, reflecting on the difficulties that arise in the course of one's life. He mentions the Lion King, where you can't have a protagonist in the film (or possibly life) without the three hyenas, helpers of Scar, the antagonist, in that sense. He also mentions how all his friends are married, following the expected milestones of one's life, while he's more concerned about getting the right answer on a gameshow from his couch. He also makes a reference to Toto's 1982 hit, "Africa", a play of words to describe him taking time off, completely changing his life -in total-, Latin based word "in toto", totalmente (totally).


In the second verse, he references how he feels that within his relationship with his significant other, his S.O. was Robin while he was Batman, a likely duo. The same name can also be shared with Robin and Ted Mosby, characters from "How I Met Your Mother". (You were Robin, then you found me, I thought I was your Batman, But I was only your Ted Mosby).


The entire song's meaning reflects how Riccardo feels he's a misfit, that in a world of more popular people, he's the underrated one. Using The Beatles as a reference to this, in a world of John Lennons and Paul McCartneys (Two most widely known Beatles members) Riccardo feels he's the Ringo Starr, the outcast of the group, and according to many Beatles fans, the most underrated.
