Plastic Jesus, an American folk song written by Ed Rush and George Cromarty in 1957. Paul Newman sings a version in the 1967 movie ‘Cool Hand Luke’.
There are many versions and loads of different verses have been added, some of them get a bit outrageous.
As a young lad i remember hearing my auld aunties singing this song after a couple o' brandys and it has been knocking around in my head for nearly 30yrs.
Its actually a mighty song for singin' in the shower! g'luck.
