This one pretty much explains itself:
It's about someone who pretends to not have a care in the world, but is actually suffering on the inside for whatever reason.
"Stay with me my angel I found you Now I don't feel low All of the rest will flow"
This is the part where the person has found something to makes him happy again and as long as he does not lose it he can withstand anything that threatens him.

One of PT's rare happy songs. It seems pretty self explanatory.

Yes. One of the rare happy songs by Porcu... Both the lyrics & the melody - which is a bit banal, thus not very Porcupine like. But it's cool, cuz it ,points out on a wide range of experimentations and a variety of musical approaches. Of course, that it's still brilliant none the less. I love the strings & bass. Happy songs are good for the ear :) Though to me it sounds more of the Stupid Dream material rather than that of Lightbulb Sun. Actually, this is one of those PT songs where I don't get this "old" European post-holocaust like vibe from which I ususally do and that I personally seem to feel sometimes when listening to this awsome band's more melancholy pieces (especially when it comes to the cover arts, not just the music itself). This is why I actually believe Steven Wilson is so intrigued by Poland (where they perform a lot and recorded Warszawa) as well as Israel (where he lived, dated an Israeli girl & colloborated with Aviv Geffen on Blackfield along other local musician here in the holy land).

The lyrics might be a bit banal if you don't think of this song as a part of a whole (the whole being lightbulb sun).. but the melody banal? did you pay attention to the violins in the back? they're just.. oh so powerful.

Honestly, does Porcupine Tree even need a defined style? That's their whole point. They can do whatever they feel is beautiful.

I think one of the most beautiful PT songs. The strings are brilliant, and happy...and the end is.. well, it's pretty. Hah.

It's about illusions of security, and it's about dependency as well.

Putting up a tough exterior but really be weak inside, and needing someone.

I really love the line 'Now I don't feel low' because it definitely seems to have a connection to the song 'Feel So Low' also from Lightbulb Sun. But I'm not sure if Steven Wilson put it there on purpose so that the album is tied together better, or if it was accidental.

Yeah, he did it on purpose. So when the album is viewed as a whole, this track becomes really ironic and somewhat tragic.

I agree with Dertt. It's Steven Wilson for Christ's sake. He does almost everything on purpose. I've been into this band for years and they always have a great 'bigger picture' to everything to do in relation to a work.

Simple melody at its best. Sometimes not making a song compliated works. It has worked here big time. In India here they are not like mainstream, and i like it.

Guy pretends he doesn't need anyone...
Guy is still lonely and broken inside...
Guy meets his "angel" and everything else just flows right in his life.
Great song, other have commented on the melody, but I'll repeat- it's simple, brilliant, and cheery. Sound-wise, the slow crescendo throughout the song give this growing feeling of exhilaration...great stuff.
