Hey guitar enthusiasts! In this lesson, I’m going to show you how to play Ramblin' Man by The Allman Brothers Band. It’s a classic tune with mostly open chords, so it’s a great one for beginners and intermediate players alike. We’ll place a capo on the 1st fret to match the original recording, and then I’ll walk you through the chords: C, D, E minor, G, and the occasional F chord. Don’t worry if the F barre chord trips you up—I’ll give you two easier F major 7 options to choose from.

I’ll cover the full intro, the chorus that kicks off the song, and multiple strumming pattern options—everything from simple downstrokes to a syncopated rhythm for those wanting a challenge. I’ll also show you how to add some dynamic variety in the verse using downstrokes and palm muting.
