When Rich Men North of Richmond went viral in 2023, I didn’t hear it because I was in the hospital in France for almost two years. Now, two years later, I’m finally hearing Oliver Anthony’s breakout song for the first time… and it moved me deeply.

I love his voice, soul, and message, but there’s one verse I just can’t sign up for. In this video, I share my heartfelt reaction, explain my perspective, and reveal my own rewrite of that verse while keeping the spirit of the song.
