Description
Where The Soul Of Man Never Dies" is on the album Skaggs & Rice, released originally as an LP in 1980 and reissued as a cd in 1993. Their vocals soar on this old mountain gospel song. Their version is my all-time favorite of this song. Skaggs had been with Ralph Stanley's traditional Clinch Mountain Boys. He had retired at age 19 & then returned as part of J.D. Crowe's "New South" and also as a member of Emmylou Harris's "Hot Band". Rice had established himself as one of the best acoustic-guitar pickers of his generation, playing with J.D. Crowe and with David Grisman. He also headed his own Tony Rice Unit. These two extraordinary musicians blended beautifully on this album. Enjoy!
