Description
In celebration of the sequel premiering today, here is a collection of highlights and songs featured in the original 1993 release of "Hocus Pocus" - which is a family favorite around the holidays in our house (sometimes year-round). I've been a fan since I first saw it in theaters as a kid and loved it!
I find the movie to be very witty, silly, and down-right campy - you're sure to be spellbound if you enjoy 90's Disney family-friendly films and love the Halloween season as much as I do. Enjoy & Happy Halloween!!

"Hocus Pocus" is a 1993 American fantasy comedy film directed by Kenny Ortega. The film follows a villainous comedic trio of witches (Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy) who are inadvertently resurrected by a virgin teenage boy (Omri Katz) in Salem, Massachusetts, on Halloween night.
Upon its release, it received mixed reviews from critics and was considered to not be a box office success. However, largely through many annual airings on Disney Channel and Freeform (formerly ABC Family) all throughout the month of October annually. "Hocus Pocus" has been rediscovered by audiences, resulting in a yearly spike in home media sales of the film every Halloween season. The annual celebration of Halloween has helped make the film a cult classic.
A sequel, written by Jen D'Angelo, directed by Anne Fletcher is set for release on September 30, 2022, as a Disney+ original film.
