Description
I made my favorite side dish for my solo KBBQ night: Green Onion Kimchi (Pa-kimchi) — the perfect match for samgyeopsal (grilled pork belly)! Packed with bold flavor and nutrients like vitamins A, C, K, iron, and calcium 💪
🥬 What You’ll Need:
* 12 green onions
For the Kimchi Sauce:
* 4 tbsp Korean red pepper flakes
* 30ml fish sauce
* 3 tbsp agave syrup
* 1 tbsp minced garlic
* ¼ tbsp ginger powder
* 1 tsp salted shrimp (optional)
* 2 tbsp flour paste (optional – boosts fermentation)
🍴 How to Make It:
1. Wash and trim green onions, pat dry, cut to desired length.
2. Brine the green onions for 10 mins and wash and dry. (Optional, but helps prevent watery kimchi)
3. Mix all sauce ingredients in a bowl and toss the green onions gently.
🌾 How to Make Flour Paste (Optional):
1. Add 160ml water + 1 tbsp glutinous rice powder or flour to a pot.
2. Stir over medium-high heat until thickened.
3. Let it cool completely before mixing into your sauce.
🇰🇷 DID YOU KNOW?Kimchi dates back over 3,000 years and is one of Korea’s most iconic and nutritious fermented foods! Proud Korean here 🇰🇷🙌 ENJOY IT!
