Description
The search for the missing AirAsia flight, which disappeared en route from Indonesia to Singapore on Sunday,... is to be widened on Tuesday amid fears the plane crashed somewhere into the Java Sea.
So far,... no trace of the plane has been found.
Indonesian officials say Flight Q-Z-8-5-0-1 carrying one-hundred-62 people,... is likely "at the bottom of the sea."
Australian aircraft reported seeing "suspicious" objects roughly one thousand kilometers away from where the jet lost contact,... but it turned out to be unrelated.
There are currently around 30 ships and at least 15 aircraft involved in the search.
Experts say they expect the wreckage to be found relatively quickly, however, given that the Java Sea is relatively shallow.
This means there is a bigger chance the signal from the plane′s black box will be detected.
The search continues on and above the Java Sea from first light today.
