Description
Premiering the same year Shanghai Disneyland opened in 2016, Ignite the Dream was the park’s first nighttime spectacular that would light up the skies every night, especially during the summer season. This multimedia spectacular ran for 5 years, when it was replaced with Illuminate! for the park’s 5th anniversary celebration.
Fun Facts:
The finale version cut part of the Frozen segment making the show a bit shorter in length.
Ignite the Dream’s soundtrack was recycled for Disney Illuminations over at Disneyland Paris in 2017.
The show wasn’t going to utilize “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes” as it’s main theme. Originally an original song titled “Ignite Your Magic Dream” was going to be the main theme, but was scrapped before the show debuted. You can hear the final portion of the pre-premiere version in a video of the original pyro testing.
The Little Mermaid segment is recycled from World of Color’s soundtrack.
