Description
There’s a big wide world out there to be explored — but ever since I was a little girl, my parents have always taught me that it starts at home.
It is no secret that it has always been a dream of mine to write the official National Day song for Singapore, and that truth remains. But more than anything, this year, I just wanted to do what I love for a city that I love. I wanted to write something new, something for the people who are venturing bravely out of Singapore to put our flag on the world map with all sorts of different endeavours. Because no matter how far we go, somehow or the other, we still find our way back home.
It takes a village; to build a song, to build a country. It's not perfect, but it's home, and we are so blessed. Here's to many more peaceful years of progress and love. Happy birthday Singapore. All my love.

Lyrics:
i don’t know where i’m going
but i know where i’m from
i know the trees, the summer breeze
beneath the setting sun
i see this river flowing
but i know there is more
i hear the call to take this flag
beyond my singapore
oh, oceans away
miles apart
right at the edge
where do i start?
it’s a leap of faith
beyond the shore
but i could go a thousand miles
find myself a brand new sky
end up in a place unknown
and still i’d find my way back home
i could make it to the stars
i could go farther than far
chase the wind each way it goes
and still, i’d find my way back home
like a sailor on a sailboat
like a lighthouse and its beam
my city shows me where to go
she shows me how to dream
so i’ll go for the horizon
for the line where sky meets sea
and the stars, the crescent moon above
they’ll guide me where i’m meant to be
oh, oceans away
miles apart
it's a leap of faith
beyond the shore
i could go a thousand miles
find myself a brand new sky
end up in a place unknown
and still i’d find my way back home
i could make it to the stars
i could go farther than far
chase the wind each way it goes
and still, i’d find my way back home
we could make it to every mountaintop
we could sail every corner of the sea
we could soar up to where no man has flown
and still i’d find my way back home
and i could go a thousand miles
find myself a brand new sky
end up in a place unknown
and still i’d find my way back home
i could make it to the stars
i could go farther than far
chase the wind each way it goes
and still, i’d find my way back home
