“Song of the Lotus”《咏荷》

Music: 《凌波仙子》杨秀兰，欧阳谦
Description: 《咏荷》is a Chinese folk piece, adapted from Xu Manni’s performance, Shanghai Theater Academy. Through the use of the 360 degree fan, the dance impersonates lotus flowers in full bloom all around a lake and celebrates the beauty and vitality that the spring season brings.

“Wu” represents the connection between Chinese dance & Chinese martial arts — 舞（wǔ）means dance & 武 （wǔ）means martial arts.

UC Berkeley Fei Tian Dancers (FTD) & Cal Wushu presented a joint end-of-the-semester showcase for the Fall 2021 Semester! “Wu” showcased a wide range of Chinese dance & martial arts performances, celebrating cultural diversity & sharing our hard work throughout the semester.
