South Korea's former first lady, Kim Keon Hee was arrested on Tuesday (Aug 12), after a court issued a warrant over corruption charges she denies. She faces charges relating to stock fraud, bribery and for allegedly using her influence illegally. Kim is also accused of of receiving two Chanel bags together valued at 20 million won (US$14,500) and a diamond necklace from a religious group as a bribe in return for influence favourable to its business interests.

Kim is South Korea's only former first lady to be arrested, and joins her husband, ex-President Yoon Suk Yeol, in jail as he faces trial for trying to impose martial law last year. #southkorea #southkoreanews
