Another band hailing from the great music city of Munich with a great upbeat new wave song. Because of its early 80s release, “Ich Shau’ Dich An” is considered part of the German new wave scene (Neue Deutsch Welle – or simply NDW), although the band probably had a greater attachment to late 50s/early 60s American rock and roll. Indeed the group’s name was taken from the lyrics of Elvis’ “Jailhouse Rock” – “Spider Murphy played the tenor saxophone” – and their repertoire included revivals of songs from that era; titles such as “Sch-bum” (“Sh-Boom”), “Autostop” (“Little Queenie”) and “Achterbahn” (“Sea Cruise”).
The band have released over a dozen albums since their first on Electrola, “Rock And Roll Schuah” in 1980.
