Suikoden II (original: 幻想水滸伝 II, Hepburn: Gensō Suikoden Tsū) is the second part of the Suikoden video game series, developed and published by Konami for the PlayStation.

It is a role-playing game, released in 1998 in Japan, 1999 in North America and 2000 for the European market.

This is my first video game music remake for a computer system other than MSX. In my opinion it is one of the greatest video game songs of all times. The melody is very sophisticated. You might be wondering "why do a remake if it sounds like the original?" - The truth is: I love the original and it's being played extremely sensitively, but the sound quality from the late 90s is not quite up to today's standards. I wanted to give the song the brilliance it deserves and which corresponds to its compositional level.

At first I wanted to put in an individual part of me like in most of my remakes. But changing just a single note already means that the song no longer comes close to the original. In the end I've rebuilt the entire original arrangement and all its parts. This is also the reason why it's the shortest music remake I've ever produced and the one that comes closest to the original. Because i usually don't use any sounds or samples from original songs, I've replaced the japanese female voice with an accordion and i am very satisfied with this choice.
