1961 was a big year for Bobby Vee in the British charts. This is just one of FIVE hits he placed in the UK Top10 that year. Three more would follow in 1962 and a final two hits in 1963. Written by Carole King and Gerry Goffin it was first recorded (but never released) by Dion and was also sung by The Beatles at their audition for Decca records. Officially, it peaked at #3 in Britain, although some UK charts (such as New Musical Express) had it at #1.
