This is the Single Mix version of "Love Shack", the 1989 hit single by the B-52's. Produced by Don Was (of Was [Not Was] fame), the song was considered a comeback for the band following their decline in popularity in the mid-80's and the 1985 death of guitarist Ricky Wilson.
In the US, "Love Shack" reached #3 on the Billboard Hot 100, #7 on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart, #1 on the Billboard Alternate Airplay chart, #11 on the Billboard Dance Singles Sales chart, and #4 on the Cash Box Top 100.
In the Netherlands, the song reached #18 on the Dutch Top 40 and #15 on the Single Top 100 charts. In Belgium, the song reached #12 on the Ultratop 50 and #9 on the VRT Top 30 charts. On Canada's RPM charts, it reached #5 on the Top Singles, #3 on the Retail Singles, and #8 on the Dance/Urban charts.
