Last quarter, back to half lit
Finally waning crescent
Now new orbit cycle starts
And it’s a new moon

Moons position, in relation
To the earth and sun
Causes different, parts lit
Full cycle takes one month

New moon, waxing crescent, first quarter,
waxing gibbous and full moon
Waning gibbous last quarter, a waning crescent
and now we're back to the start
