While Christmas has a slew of holiday songs, for #Halloween, one stands out! In 1962, Bobby ‘Boris’ Pickett and The Crypt-Kickers recorded Monster Mash. Now, this is the time where there are a lot of novelty songs like Alley Oop. So there are performing live one night, and Pickett, who was an aspiring actor, asked if he could do a song in the voice of Boris Karloff. He did it and the crowd went nuts. They then decided to record a record. Number One in 1962 and even hit number 37 in 2001. The BBC, however, banned in ‘62 for being too morbid. Enjoy the #MonsterMash.
