Hello, for this video I will discuss what The song "the trooper" by Iron miaden is all about including its history.

This is a new series I will be doing, that takes a look into the meaning of a song, or the lyrics of a choosen song.

However please be aware that, when it comes to History or complex situations, I will do my best to remain accuate and summerise
to the best of my ability, this is to keep the video short and hopefully not bore folk, who find history boring.

"The Trooper" was Written by steve Harris, founding member and bassist of iron miaden and was inspired by Lord Tennyson's poem
written in 1854.

This song and poem is in reference to the Event known as "the charge of the light brigade" which happened at the Battle of Balaclava
in 1854, and was part of the crimean war fought from October 1853 to February 1856 and event "the charge of the light brigade" is
known as one of the darkest days in British Military History.
