Gala Water joins the Tweed only a short distance from Ettrick Water on the southern Edge of Galashiels an important hub town in the borders today as well as in its past. Gala Water is a short tributary in comparison to its neighbour, the Ettrick, but its valley is full of fascinating features and history.
