Threnody Passage casts aside the spectral veils of ambient mists and atmospheric blackness that once softened their sound, stepping instead into a furnace of unrelenting, blackened furor. Where their debut swayed between icy atmospheres and dreamlike passages, this second offering pares away such reprieves, leaving only brief, sombre interludes to mark the record’s boundaries. In their place stands a raging and decimating soundscape of raw black metal steeped in venom where each riff flares asa blade in the dark, and each shriek a wound torn open to the night.

The record is burried in bitterness, its lyrics are heart swollen with betrayal, hypocrisy, and the suffocating weight of isolation. Here, the Indonesian language becomes a weapon, carving verses that are as much lament as they are curse, seething over guitars that churn with volcanic flair, the drums hammering like the heartbeat of some great beast driven to frenzy. The production, harsh as it is, serves as both mirror and magnifier to the music’s emotional marrow where the hiss and the grittiness become part of the storytelling, rendering each moment more visceral, more human as the album moves as a single current of wrath, dragging the listener deeper into its undertow.


“Serapah” burns without mercy, its heat fed by betrayal, its smoke heavy with grief.
