"The Nutmeg Suite," arranged by Berklee graduate Tiffany Strachan, is a medley of compositions by various Grenadian artists, spanning from the colonial 1960s to Spicemas 2023. Strachan was inspired by duty and love for her home country as they celebrate their 50th year of Independence is this year, 2024. The arrangement uniquely blends Baroque and Romantic orchestration with Afro-Grenadian melodies and rhythms. Recorded by the Budapest Art Orchestra in Hungary, the suite employs Renaissance-style elements, creating a musical journey through Grenadian history. Strachan aims for the piece to resonate with Grenadians worldwide, fostering reflection on the significance of Grenadian music and identity.
