The title refers to a Spanish aphorism: "El buey solo bien se lame." Literally, "a free ox licks itself well." When an ox is in the yoke, it cannot turn its head to lick itself. But when it is out of the yoke, it will take great pleasure in licking itself wherever it can. The equivalent in English would be: He travels fast who travels alone; the inference being that it is easier to achieve one's own personal goals or to enjoy what you want to do without other responsibilities.
