It is exactly 24 years since the world lost one of its most beautiful and talented actresses of her generation. Although best known for her iconic role in one of the most successful comedies of the 1960's, she reinvented herself into the 1970's and 1980's as the 'Telemovie Queen' ;notching up many successful movies made for the small screen. I wanted to honour her as well as the singer that I have loved for exactly the number of years since this actress departed the world. In 1995 I discovered country music sweetheart Trisha Yearwood and in the quarter of a century since her powerful tones have given me much needed solace in a part of my life that has witnessed soaring heights and crushing blows. 'The Song Remembers When' was the first of Trisha's songs and albums I unearthed and I have EVERY recording she has since her early 90's entree into the music world. For the next decade I submerged myself into country music; in a way that I had not since being a child and first enjoying Glen Campbell and Crystal Gayle; just to name a couple. Country music had always been along for my journey, but as unfashionable as it was as a teenager to say you liked the genre, it didn't stop me from loving Anne Murray, Dolly Parton and in more recent years Shania Twain, Suzy Bogguss, Kathy Mattea and local superstars Keith Urban, The McClymonts and Melinda Schneider. A sense of fun as well as thoughtful compositions have often been preferable anthems than the disco or power pop genres - my other go-to forms of pop music. I love them all! I hope all who see this tribute enjoy it. 'Witchcraft' is one of the best tracks from Trisha's latest album 'Let's Be Frank' (a terrific tribute to one of the greatest performers of all time!
