I'm reasonably happy with this final take, apart from the fact that my drones were going out of tune (or rather they were still tuned to what the chanter was doing before 10 minutes of playing).

Interesting to note is the uncertainty over what the name means: does it actually reference a real bear, or is it a corruption of the word "beard" or the surname "Baird"?
Anyway, I didn't play it nearly as fast as it is supposed to be played, but it was still quick enough in my opinion. Given that it is supposed to be played at the end of the day when the soldiers return to their barracks, I can understand why they would want to play it so fast, but I don't know why they didn't just use a slightly easier tune...
I also realise there are much harder tunes out there (many of which I still have to look forward to), but I don't think anything as fundamental or essential as The Black Bear can challenge it in terms of difficulty.
