"Consistent with popular a cappella practice, this choral arrangement of Natasha Bedingfield's Unwritten by Vince Peterson uses the voices as instruments that drive the texture in rhythm, melody, and harmony. The lyics acknowledge the limits of language - that the primal and profound desire to communicate is sometimes frustrated in the search for words to express ourselves. The song encourages us to be brave, to be vulnerable, and, by extension, to open ourselves to the depths of creative impulse--the nature of which far exceeds the connotative specificity of mere words."
