Description
Bolivia is a south american nation with a great and bold history, from it's natural formation by native american tribes to it's spanish colonization to the independence in 1825. Bolivia had a storm 19th century fighting against every single neighbour, surviving all exanges and paving the way for a prosperous 20th century.
During the course of the 20th century Bolivia experienced circles of ideological change, from an oligarchic republic to the militarized socialism of Germán Busch Becerra to Social democracy under Paz Estenssoro, through democracies from left to the right to dictatorships, facing every challenge and building and strenghning itself. The birth of the 21st century led the creation of the first native government under Evo Morales, a left wing nationalist who shaped the current political formation of the country.
This song by Apolinar Camacho, was initially titled A Bolivia. It was legally registered with this name in 1946. However, after being forgotten for some time, in 1963 the Bolivian team was crowned in the South American Soccer Championship and the people relived it as an anthem, but this time with the name Viva mi Patria Bolivia. The footage shows bolivia in the early 20th century from the 1910s to the 1935 chaco war.
Special and majestic thanks to my great bolivian friend, mister The Accent Man.
